Come explore the strange history of Halloween - from old world harvest festivals to our modern holiday. With original photographs and vintages images, this presentation will reveal the origins of the Jack o' Lantern and other seasonal traditions; tell the story behind the 1938 "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast and the first monster movies; and take audiences on an eerie tour of haunted lighthouses and hotels. Registration required.
The Library Board usually meets every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm in the Kennedy Room. The meeting is open to the public, and our agenda is published on our web-page several days in advance.
Come join us to watch “The Others” (PG-13, 2001): “A woman who lives in her darkened old family house with her two photosensitive children becomes convinced that the home is haunted.” Registration required.
Color away the stress! Stop by the library for a relaxing hour of adult coloring and warm mulled apple cider. All supplies are provided but feel free to bring your own materials. Registration required.
Come join us to watch "Yesterday" (PG-13, 2019): "After a freak accident during a worldwide blackout, struggling musician Jack Malik wakes to discover that he is the only person in the world to remember The Beatles. Using this newfound benefit to his advantage, Jack begins plagiarising the work of the legendary band to launch his career to superstardom." Light refreshments will be served. Registration required.
